Indie pop 5 piece band MARKETPLACE just released their third single Charlie via TLR. It’s a summery, catchy indie piece with melodic guitars and beautifully matching male and female vocals.
“Writing Charlie was a weird process for us. It all happened during lockdown so it was quite drawn out, even though most of the song came together in like a day or two” explains songwriter Joel O’Beirne. “The song name came from my nephew Charlie, he’d only recently just been born I think and I’d really wanted to write a song with a name in the chorus and that just fit really well.”
MARKETPLACE arrived in early 2020 with their debut single, “HARD 2 LOVE”. Their debut received praise from tastemakers across the board, with the band being tipped by Rianne Thompson from BBC Introducing on Radio Tees as ‘Ones to Watch’ for 2021.
