It’s summer. But instead of enjoying the warm temperatures, you watch the rain outside your window. Heartbroken and alone. You start to realize, that you were always the giver, but never the taker in this relationship.
Based in Lübeck, Germany, the synthwave duo BEL EPOQ features a remarkable take on modern synthwave, embracing its influences ranging from straight and uplifting 80s pop to distorted and elegiac darkwave worlds. Heavy hitting drums, dark bittersweet synthesizers and big production serve as a rock solid foundation for big choruses and leads.
Their newest single ’Rain in July’ is a melancholic dark wave soundtrack featuring a strong drumbeat reminiscent of Kate Bush’s music, slightly detuned synth hooks and hypnotising voice timbre.
