Would you like to be a perfect version of yourself? Or do you accept yourself with all your mistakes and problems, addictions and emotional valleys? That’s what „Bottle of Wisdom” is about, a fusion of grunge, soul and melancholy. This combination is rare, but with Vandalisbin it immediately comes to the fore in music: as urgent and catchy as soul, but as raw and rough as grunge.
The first chorus sounds like you know the song from an oldschool sampler. The way Vandalisbin juggles her influences from Nirvana to Arlo Parks to TonSteineScherben is impressive. So is her ability to translate her own view of complex questions into poetry. And of course how skillfully she leads listeners to the climax of the song, making you want to skip back immediately.
