School of X reaches for the sky with his new single „I Wanna Dive in the Seven Seas”

Rasmus Littauer, better known by his artistic alias School of X, is back, and this time he’s diving headfirst into the deepest emotional waters with his new single, „I Wanna Dive in the Seven Seas.”  This track is a bold precursor to his highly anticipated third album, Seventh Heaven, which drops November 1st via Tambourhinoceros. The single blends lush acoustic guitars with ethereal strings, delivering a rich, soaring soundscape that’s as much about personal reflection as it is about pushing boundaries.

In classic School of X fashion, the song wrestles with the internal tug-of-war we all face: the balancing act between life’s routines and the desire to break free from them.

“It’s about constantly wanting more out of life and having the urge to push your limits, even though you tell yourself: I have to calm down now,”

says Littauer. His words echo the restlessness of our generation, the longing for something deeper and more meaningful, while grappling with the pressures of modern adulthood.

School of X has always been an artist adept at articulating the human condition through alternative, melancholic pop. With previous collaborations alongside Danish indie royalty like Liss, Trentemøller, and global icons like MØ and Deb Never, he has carved out a unique voice in the music world, one that blends wistful introspection with powerful, cinematic sound.

His new single is accompanied by a striking music video directed by Albert Hildebrandt, continuing their creative collaboration, which previously brought us visual gems from Seventh Heaven’s earlier singles. Together, Littauer and Hildebrandt have crafted a visual narrative that captures the emotional highs and lows of striving for perfection — an ideal that, as the forthcoming album reveals, is ever-elusive.

Seventh Heaven, due out November 1st,  is the culmination of two years of songwriting, distilled into ten carefully curated tracks. Littauer dives deep into the thematic exploration of what it means to pursue happiness, and what happens when you realize that ultimate perfection might be a utopia.

I’ve always strived to reach the seventh heaven. To be truly happy without any pain or worries. Gradually, I’ve come to believe the solution is to become better friends with the darkness, and in that way, let the light prevail. Maybe that’s the way to reach the seventh heaven.
