Onyda, an obsessive creator from England working with music, visuals, film and fashion prepares the world for their 5 track debut EP out on May 20th. Intriguing with their effortless singing, and edginess they’re like a fairy we all needed in 2022.
‘I Know What I Want’ Onyda’s latest single taken from the debut, forthcoming EP is a celebration of their desire for the chaos which is created simply by embracing who they are and the boundaries that they break simply by being themselves.
Speaking on the track and the video, Onyda said,
I portrayed myself as this dystopian cowboy roaming the streets because sometimes the act of being yourself feels like being in a standoff with the rest of the world – it feels that way to me most days actually. I’m inspired by the landscapes of Stoke and I love documenting them in my visuals.
The five-track project has been backed by the talents of producer Ben Hillier (Blur, Doves, Elbow) and follows a run of support from Radio 1 and 1Xtra. Onyda was also invited to play at Glastonbury on the BBC Introducing stage. An artist with great intellect and a unique creative vision, Onyda shows great promise as an artist to watch out for in 2022.
