Ladyhawke announces a new album after personal transformation

Ladyhawke (‘Pip’ Brown) New Zealand Indie artist releases new music and announces an album after 5 years break. She continues to deliver the sonic goods with a remix EP of her current single Mixed Emotions featuring a stellar cut by K.Flay. The reMIXED EMOTIONS EP includes three new remixes by a cutting-edge, all-female artist line up from around the globe with K.Flay, Woodes, and Shura. The remix collection serves as a great lead-up to her new full-length album Time Flies, out October 8 on BMG.

Talking about the single Pip said: “I feel very honoured to have my track remixed by 3 incredible female artists I respect very much! They each bought their own unique flavour for the track and turned it into something completely new! The single was written with my old mates Jono Sloan and Nick Littlemore while on a writing trip in LA. The song is about all the things you can feel with one person, sometimes all in a single day. Ups and downs, confusion, highs, and lows.”

In the half-decade since her acclaimed 2016 albumWild Things, Pip has gone through a personal transformation. She married New Zealand actress Madeleine Sami and gave birth to their beautiful daughter in late 2017. Pip has openly struggled with mental health, anxiety, and depression for a long time. After dealing with severe postnatal depression and a serious skin cancer condition that has thankfully seen a full recovery, Pip successfully procured the right balance of therapy and medication. When she embarked on writing songs for this new record in 2019, there was a sense of freedom in the work.

“I was feeling pretty grateful to be alive and making music, so I felt like I didn’t care anymore – not in a bad way, I just stopped overthinking it.”
