Glimmer was written and recorded in a studio on the beach in Malibu. Smith and Moore spent a month there bonding, drinking Johnny Walker green label, occasionally getting g-rated psychedelic and writing/recording music. The three part harmonies and psychadelic vocals are done by Dhani Harrison, son of George, who was childhood friends with Moore (lead singer on Glimmer, and son of guitarist Gary Moore).
