For Found Space, their latest single “dreaming” is both a declaration and a beginning. The track marks the first glimpse of their upcoming EP cloud study, a project born from the decision to fully lean into the textures and atmospheres of Dream Pop.
Written as the first song after that choice was made, “dreaming” became an almost accidental ode to the genre’s origins, a hazy, whimsical soundscape that feels suspended between past and future. With shimmering guitars, gauzy melodies, and vocals that hover like a half-remembered dream, the track captures the feeling of drifting somewhere just out of reach.
“We didn’t mean for it to, but it ended up becoming this obvious nod to the dreamlike, whimsical state that influenced the genre in the first place. Through a lens of Dreampop nostalgia, we’re trying to contextualize the future with cloud study.”
As its first single, “dreaming” sets the tone for what’s to come: an EP that embraces the blissful haze of Dream Pop while pulling its gaze toward what lies ahead.
