Some songs feel like they were grown rather than written. “Stone Balance” the new single from Swiss art pop duo Forever Overhead is one of them. Born during a residency in the secluded valleys of Ticino it moves with the patience of a landscape settling into shape.
There is a quiet devotion to nature here. You can almost feel the river mist, the cool stone, the breath you hold while trying to balance one smooth rock atop another. The track mirrors that fragile act. It begins minimal and contemplative then gradually expands into a wide horizon of sound. What starts in stillness ends in motion.

Forever Overhead have already established a reputation for precision that never sacrifices warmth. Their debut single “Hold My Tongue” earned its way to BBC Radio on the strength of its subtle tension and emotional clarity. “Stone Balance” extends that journey with deeper confidence. It invites the listener into a space where experimentation and intuition coexist where every sonic detail feels intentionally placed yet alive in its own gentle rebellion against restraint.
As the duo prepare their debut EP An Introduction to Mirages they continue to build a world that is both grounded and dream soaked. Their music doesn’t rush. It guides. It asks you to notice the weight of a moment and the beauty that can exist in the careful suspension between falling and standing.
