Music history is full of cheesy break-up songs and Hamburg-based, California-bred road-tripping duo River abandon the obvious choices of songwriting topics and take a more entertaining approach serving us with their debut single ‘Inappropriate’ an addictive, moan-free, summer banger that takes us back in time to the most carefree years of our lives.

The song comes with an 80s stylised video starring Emma Grey as a main character living her life freely and definitely not playing by the rules. The whole creates a perfect manifesto of “not letting yourself get dragged down only because life doesn’t play by your rules.” 

As they explain: 

This song is like traveling back in time to when we were still kids living each day to the fullest, not a care in the world. Not taking life and ourselves too seriously can be a lot harder than expected but with just the right bit of distance it’s a lot less drama than you think.
