Austin based singer-songwriter 1st Base Runner expands his atmospheric and intensely personal sound on his sophomore release ‘Ellis‘. This EP is a collaboration with longtime friend Bryan Ellis that brought more lively sound to it than in the previous 1st Base Runner’s EP ‘Seven Years’.

The song we focus on today is a piece called ‘Flux’, a shoegaze track with addictive vocal lines. As much as we’re not fans of long intros in songs, ‘Flux’s’ intro doesn’t seem to bother us that much. Nicely built dynamics, cosmic, delicate synths introduce us to the romantic world that 1st Base Runner created for us in this song. The honesty and simplicity of the lyrical layer make the song extremely powerful. There are some mysterious powers coming from vocal lines that awake the most dormant emotions we may keep in our hearts.
